Local Author releases new children’s book

Brookhaven, MS — A Horse is a Horse written by Kimberly Rich Young, Illustrated by David Young

Children’s author Kimberly Rich Young is a substitute teacher in Mississippi. Originally from St. Louis, where her parents and brother still live, Kimberly and her husband (and illustrator) David Young hoped to someday be able to live a quieter life. Five years ago they decided to move to the country where Dave could start his business and Kimberly could pursue her dream of becoming an author. They live with several furry friends and enjoy the peace and simplicity a rural life affords.

Kimberly enjoys children’s books because they allow an opportunity to help children explore topics that are sometimes difficult to grasp. The emotional satisfaction of helping children learn to be their best and follow their dreams is a big motivation in Kimberly ’s writing. Science fiction and fantasy are other avenues she hopes to explore in the future. (Shhhhh,… don’t tell but she has already begun work on an exciting new adventure series for the “Tween” crowd)
